A badge or licence number in a footer is only a starting point. The useful check connects the exact hostname, operating company and current status in the named regulator's public record. Similar brand names can be operated by different entities or apply in different jurisdictions.
Record the legal entity, licence number, regulator name, address and the page date where shown. Do not rely on a logo alone. If the terms name a different entity from the footer, preserve both versions before making a decision.
Open the regulator record directly
Use the official register for the claimed jurisdiction and search the number or company. Confirm status, authorised activities and any listed trading names. A company registration is not automatically a gambling licence.
Match the hostname
Look for the exact domain among approved URLs when the register provides them. A valid licence held by a similarly named group does not necessarily cover every mirror, affiliate or unrelated hostname.
Record the applicable player route
Read which entity contracts with players in the stated country and where disputes are directed. Availability in one region does not prove permission in another. Keep the record date because status and domain lists can change.
